A huge thanks goes to everyone who has joined our WINDWISE UK sessions over the last few weeks and weekends. Great work, good sailing and I look forward to seeing you soon to check on your progress and move you on to the next level!

We've been very busy with our Improver, Intermediate, Advanced and WaveWise courses with a real mix of conditions and some pretty determined action on the water. From super high wind control, waves, jumps, survival gybes and fine tuning the intricacies of hovering, positioning, tacking and helicopter tacking short boards, we covered a lot in a short space of time. We've also had some lighter wind courses, but have always made the most of the conditions with masses of skills training and sowing the seeds for higher wind mastery!

We have plenty more improver-intermediate and advanced intermediate courses lined up!

Hi Michael, thanks for feedback, I'll email you thoughts on kit and where to get it etc.
Plus I'll send through T'ai chi version on gybe for you....
We would have done more muscle memory on the land had it not been quite so cold....

Look forward to seeing you soon to keep the momentum going.
You should consider somewhere like Marsa Alam in Sept, perfect for sorting those corners out and we do a lot more of the land/skills based muscle memory training.

All the best and let me know if any UK or overseas dates work for you.

Simon

Hi Simon
Great 2 days at Esso Beach 23/24 May.
It showed how doing the basics properly is so important when things get hairy.
I need a smaller board - ? 110 litres or so, and a smaller sail - ? 5 m or so. Anything else?
What could you provide?
I would like to see a t'ai chi version of a carve gybe that I could follow at home. Has anyone made one?
Will certainly be back soon.
Best wishes,
Michael

Great work Richard, great to see you giving those conditions a decent go. It will make slightly less severe conditions seem more achievable in future. We are well on track with your windsurfing and I'm sure we can keep improving your level, 'corners' and get those duck gybes dialed. I actually have more planned for you too! All the best Simon

Thanks for the course Simon, Thursday was great fun! I have not been out in those conditions before (Chimet was on F6-7), so really good to challenge myself. I sailed my smallest board & sail and I would not have gone out in that wind had it not been for the course – I am glad I did.

Friday was a lot more mellow and with the year’s first Skills & Drills session behind me, I now have the Duck Gybe to be the next season’s target…
