Hayling Intermediate - Feasible Freestyle Windsurfing Course

Thu 15th August 2019 to Fri 16th August 2019

Feasible Freestyle Course

Unique Windwise Skills Training System

Light Winds or Strong Winds we'll teach you "Feasible Freestyle" for your level. Whether you're looking for some summer fun and "something to do when the wind is light on a WindSUP" or you're on a missing to break that plateau and develop your short board 'tricks' this is perfect for you. In fact it's perfect for everyone, as even beginner can enhance their overall level by trying 'feasible freestyles skills' - Let us prove to you that we can show you how to enhance your windsurfing!

"I learnt to windsurf on the River Thames and spent my beginner stages being taught to muck about trying different skills and basically avoid sailing in a straight line. We have helped so many windsurfers to get more out of their time on the water by breaking away from the 'normal' progression plan. Also, we like to inspire you to try something new. We can show ANYONE how to develop your skills base no matter where you are with your windsurfing. So come and try our Windwise "Feasible Freestyle" session to discover the achievable component skills that will add a new dynamic to your windsurfing this summer!" Simon Bornhoft (Ex national Freestyle champion).

We'll help you to develop your skills with some fun, engaging and totally feasible moves/skills and 'tricks'. No previous level is needed. We will show you the 5 key component parts that make up all the main moves.

We'll show you how to sail 'Switched Stance', 'Front 2 Sail', 'Back 2 Sail', do 'Cowboys-girls', 'Sail 360's', Helicopter Tacks, Duck Gybes / Duck Tacks / Upwind & Downwind 360's and any other feasible freestyle you're aspiring too. Plus if it's windy we can develop your Jumps / Wave Riding / Vulcans / Spocks / Forward Looping or just get you to  break away from the blast and gybe routine!

Discover Windwise Core Skills and how it actually all works!

Windwise 'Touch Points'
that replicate themselves in so many moves.

What should I bring?

A large volume board, like a beginners board or WindSUP and your short board kit too if you have any.

Unless you're hiring from us, please bring all your kit, including a board plenty big enough to easily in on non-planing conditions as the course will go ahead even in lighter winds. Bring your wetsuits, harness, wetsuit booties, sunblock, all weather gear, a pack lunch and plenty of fluid to keep hydrated.

Location & Meeting Up

Essentially we use two different locations depending on the course level, conditions and state of tide. We'll let you know which one is for your course. Should there be a change of location we'll let you know prior to the course.

Esso Beach, Langstone Harbour
Half a mile after going over Hayling bridge you'll see an Esso petrol station. Right next to the petrol station is a small lane which takes you a car park over looking the harbour. This works perfectly for high tide sessions. There are no facilities at this location, so use the toilet at the Esso or Texaco petrol station.

Hayling Seafront
We use the seafront for low tide days, because it forms a large flat water lagoon. We meet at the end of the car park, right past the Inn on the Beach at the end of the beach huts next to the golf course. Don't forget to bring some coins for parking meter. We launch in front of the golf course.

Testimonials

"I am well chuffed with what I achieved with your help and I came away from the course with all boxes ticked. I'm not exaggerating when I say that you completely transformed my sailing from someone who was nowhere near the straps on a 145l board to someone who was flying around, fully committed in the harness, feet in both straps on a 113l board and feeling pretty relaxed about the whole thing. The course was exactly the right balance of talk, analysis, demo and doing - it exceeded my every expectation and I will definitely be back. All I did was turn up, listen to what you told me to do and things just clicked into place – brilliant!"

Ty Owen

Despite the light winds I learned masses from Simon in such a short space of time. Within weeks my sailing had moved to the next level.

Keith from Cornwall

"Thanks for a great couple of days training. I really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. We were so lucky with the conditions. I feel as if I now know what to do when tacking - although need to spend more time practising. The early planning instruction definitely helped. And I made progress with the gybing rig rotation - keeping the clew upwind and 'kissing the guns' definitely my gybes at the end of the afternoon."

Martin Jones

"Great session and really great tuition"

Noel from Itchenor

"Thanks for a most enjoyable, enlightening and challenging couple of days - not sure why I've left it 22 years before taking to the water again, but great fun and very rewarding."

Stuart from Itchenor
