Daymer Freeride + Freewave 11th -13th Sept 2022
Booking now, come and our fabulous West Country adventure.
Our September Daymer Bay Adventure is a windsurfing adventure-course designed to offer both flat water Freeriding, optional intro-to-wave experiences and give you a fabulous windsurfing in Cornwall.
It's the perfect way to get to Cornwall, explore new windsurfing venues, develop your windsurfing skills and learn how to get into sea and wave sailing. We also do our skills training whilst on an adventure. So it's not uncommon to say do a load of taking practice heading upwind with the tide, stop for lunch and then do gybes heading downwind on the tide.
We seek to give you the best coaching and see the local area!

The Holiday & Coaching
The aim is to immerse ourselves for four days in great locations, windsurf and introduce you to wave sailing skills and wave environments. Daymer offers both flat water and waves, so it is the perfect location to dip your toe into the wave scene. We cover choosing the right spots, tide times, Freeride skills and also encountering waves, jumping, riding and any other aspect of the sport! If the wind is light, then we'll either do WindSUPing, surfing, biking and still have a great time! We've been doing these West Country trips for nearly ten years and they are always popular, memorable and eventful sessions with a great bunch of windsurfers.
Course criteria Sept Freewave: You must be able to waterstart and wind or no wind - be up for a great adventure!
Course criteria July Freeride: You must be able to waterstart and wind or no wind - be up for a great adventure!
Cornwall Adventure Ethos
We have done these West Country trips for about 10 years and whilst windsurfing is our primary aim, the trip goes ahead regardless of conditions. So if the wind isn't on our side, we'll do a mix of light wind skills and drills, but we'll also add in other locals activities (SUPing, biking, surfing and more!) to make sure we have an active adventure. Regardless of conditions, this trip goes ahead, so take all the toys! So as well as the windsurfing expect amazing country pubs, wine tasting, surfing, WindSUPing adventures, biking, hiking, BBQ's and a few surprises along the way!
We've done some amazing skills training sessions on the in going tide up the Camel Estuary, lunch in Rock and then Skills Training back to Daymer. Progression through adventure!
Optional Accommodation
The optional accommodation is in really decent quality self catering houses in a really great cottage complex which has with a fabulous swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, tennis courts and BBQ's. We book 2-3 cottages. They're a 15 mins from Daymer and they act as a great base for post sail de-brief, team talks, video playback, communal breakfasts, our annual 'cook off' and a short walk to a fabulous pub! Plus we have some great local contacts to make the best of the location.
Single Room option in shared house: £225per person
Shared Room option in shared house: £185 per person
If you don't have someone to share with we can try and find a Windwise 'room mate' for you. If not it will have to be a single room option.
We settle up with accommodation closer to the course, but let us know what accommodation you'd prefer.
What should I take?
All your main windsurfing kit, but no large camber induced sails allowed:)
So ideally bring a wave board and larger Freestyle Wave/Freemove board 100-120L, so you have something with volume.
Definitely bring a WindSUP (if you have one) or beg, borrow or hire one as they are super useful for this trip.
Any issues with that, let us know. Don't worry about bringing 7m+ rigs, if the wind is marginal we tend to try to do wave skills on WindSUP's rather than big sail blasting. But if you have room, by all means bring the large Freeride board.
Toys & Other Activities
If you have space bring a mountain bike and it's not uncommon to bring a bottle of wine with a story linked to it! Onsite there's a swimming pool, gym, sauna, fab games room and tennis. Locally there's surfing and biking, so bring any other toys if that's your thing.
Food etc
Bring your initial breakfast, cereal milk etc and then it's possible to buy more locally. Depending on the group and how we're all feeling we'll either eat out, eat in resort, in the chalet or maybe BBQ, but we'll fine turn that down there. There's towels, hair dryers and all kitchen utensils at The Olde House.
