** Looking for extra nights or different accommodation, we prefer you with the main group, but can find other accommodation if you like. **

** If the Sonrisa or Ocean Villas accommodation fills up, we offer similar grade accommodation very close to the group hotel. **

 

CV19 Travel / Flights / Insurance 

If the UK government travel restrictions mean we can't travel to Bonaire, then you will receive a Windwise credit or refund. If you cannot travel for personal reasons, ill health, injury or any unforeseen reasons the booking will still stand. So we suggest getting holiday insurance, including CV19 travel cover which is now easy to get at little cost. Most airlines will allow you to shift to other dates/locations. So there's no financial risk for you.

Who's it for?

Our Bonaire windsurfing clinic and holiday is aimed at -imporver-intermediate-advnaced windsurfers looking to move their windsurfing onto another level. Whether that's getting comfortable at speed, straps, shorter boards, waterstarts, smaller boards, blasting faster and fast DRY tacks and gybes  - This is for YOU!

 

WINDWISE SKILLS TRAINING SYSTEM
We will cover all of that plus  enhance faster tacks, dry gybes and tune up any other niggling technique issues you might have. Be warned, such is the success rate of our coaching system that we might even get you duck gybing! You don't have to be able to waterstart to sail Bonaire and it's got a sheltered area that produces the flattest water imaginable for learning - so what are you waiting for...?

 

 

Windwise Bonaire Hotel & Accommodation Options 

 

In Bonaire we offer different experiences from carefully chosen hotels/apartments. For each session our group accommodation is either based on the  beach or in town.

Sonrisa Hotel & Ocean Villas is where we base ourselves during March& April. These are in or close to town and we have Bonaire team trucks to ferry us around to the beach and to eat out. We spend the whole day at the beach and then head back to accommodation for evening chill out, BBQ's and eating out. This works really well, adds to the whole 'Bonaire experience' and also helps to keep the costs down.

**Please note if the Sonrisa fills up, then we use another local hotel which is 400m away from the Sonrisa**

The Sorobon Resort (Our January sessions) is right on the windsurfing beach, barely a fins throw from the windsurfing and has the most stunning views you could possibly imagine. It's however a popular resort, books up very quickly and it's more expensive. There are also some apartments nearby that we can use as over flow and reduce cost.   

Single supplement in Bonaire/Caribbean

Just like in the states, Bonaire resorts/hotels/accommodation charge 'by the room' whether that is one or two people in it. When we do our package pricing it is based on two people sharing a room. If you want your own room, it means you are paying for the whole room. We have actually adjusted and absorb some the cost for you, but there's nothing we can do about this, hence the single supplement costs. So ideally bring someone else to share this amazing experience or ask us to find someone to share with you.

A. If you would like us to find someone for you to share with to help keep costs down, with enough notice we can usually do this to help you save the single supplement.

 

Q. Want to extend your stay?

A. If you want to lengthen your stray we can organise extra nights in the hotel, board hire and anything else you're looking for to maker your holiday a wonderful experience. 

 

 

Course & Holiday Content

During the course our WINDWISE SKILLS TRAINING SYSTEM we'll cover, super early planing, sailing at higher speeds, stance range, quick short board tacks, gybe variations, duck gybes and any other windsurfing requests. Plus we will have a whole bunch of fun expression sessions to help your level flourish. As ever using our core WINDWISE Skills Training System we get the body to do what you mind is asking it to do! Plus we it's a great opportunity to try different styles and sizes of boards under the safety and guidance of WINDWISE. 

After a full day of coaching, windsurfing and having a great time on the water, there is still time for further socials, adventures or just relaxing in the beauty of the Caribbean! We run a optional social programme and always make sure that it's a welcoming environment to give you the best possible windsurfing experience! Singles, couples or groups are most welcome and we guarantee an amazing windsurfing experience for all our clients.

Kit & Windsurfing Conditions In Bonaire 

Ultra flat water in a massive safe lagoon!  We are using Bonaire Windsurf Place, which is a STARBOARD / RRD centre. We will select the right board for your level and you can change within the centre and out group to suit changes in conditions and your level! They do use the rig deflectors/deviators to protect their boards, which is initially a bit of a pain, but you get used to them. The deviators can be a pain at first waterstarting, but you soon get used to them, plus which is so shallow, you barely need to waterstart...It takes 3-4 months to boards delivered to the island, hence they are keen to look after the kit. The windsurfing centre is packed with great kit, which is perfectly suited to the conditions - we can always switch boards to suit your needs! Boards between 95-150L (If you're unsure about what board is right for you, don't hesitate to ask)

The Caribbean trade winds blow 12-22 Knots (3-5) pretty much all day when the trades are in, so we get a really full day on the water and everyone always comments on how much they learn.

Sails 4.7-7.5m

What to take

It's highly likely that you'll be sailing in just boardies and rash vest! But bring a shortie if you feel the cold or to protect from sun and wind chill on breezier days. 

Hat, sunblock, booties (optional) / US pin travel plug / hoodie / fleece for sitting outside in evenings - 

Loud shirt for BBQ night!

Flight Suggestions. There are alternative connecting flights from London City Airport, Southampton and regional airports.

**PLEASE NOTE** There are different flights 6.50am - 8.40 from London Heathrow or City Aiport that give you more leeway and time for the transfer in Amsterdam.
Whilst it is not essential, a lot of people go for those ealier flights for peace of mind and to reduce risk of weather delays etc.
